dc.descriptionWe present the results obtained so far from the optical follow-up of the ATESP sub-mJy radio survey. The ATESP results are then compared with the ones obtained from other deep radio samples and we show how the existing discrepancies about the nature of the faint radio population can be explained in terms of selection effects.
