We compare the numerical predictions for heavy quark production in high energy hadron collisions in the conventional QCD parton model and the k_T-factorization approach (semihard theory). The total production cross sections, one-particle rapidity and p_T distributions as well as several two-particle correlations are considered. Some of them can help to estimate QCD scale. The differense in the predictions of the two approaches is not very large, while the shapes of the distributions are sometimes different.
