| dc.description | Waves associated to large scale oceanic motions are gravity waves (Poincaré waves which disperse fast) and quasigeostrophic waves (Rossby waves). In this Note, we show by semiclassical arguments, that Rossby waves can be trapped and we characterize the corresponding initial conditions. | |
