| dc.description | We explore the light-cone gauge formulation of a closed supermembrane on AdS_{7} x S^{4}. We obtain the action of matrix quantum mechanics with large N U(N) gauge symmetry for the light-cone supermembrane. We show that this action reproduces leading order terms in α'-expansion of the non-abelian Born-Infeld action of N D0-branes propagating near the horizon of D4-branes. The matrix quantum mechanics obtained in this paper, therefore, has an interpretation as Matrix theory in the near-horizon of D4-branes. | |
