dc.descriptionTwo of Lanczos' seminal contributions in physics that are not generally known about in the physics community are discussed and commented in relation to more recent investigations: First, his integral formulation of the Schroedinger equation that he published just before Schroedinger himself published his differential equation formulation of quantum mechanics, and, second, his solution to the problem of equations of motion of material particles in the theory of general relativity.
