dc.descriptionThe relativistic quark potential model (QPM) is developed for describingvector mesons and their leptonic decays. The new representation Salpeter equation for vector mesons is proposed. Studying the $τ\toρν$ decay theexpression for $ρ$-meson leptonic decay constant $f_ρ$ isobtained. It is shown that quark model describes on a satisfactory level both theconstant $f_ρ$ and the masses of other charged vector mesons. Thevalues for the leptonic decay constants of $K^{*},D^{*},D^{*}_s,B^{*},B^{*}_c$ mesons are predicted.
