dc.descriptionThis talk presents an overview of the brane cosmology scenario, based on the idea that our Universe is a 3-brane embedded in a five-dimensional anti-de Sitter bulk space-time. Special emphasis is put on the novel features of this scenario: an unconventional cosmological evolution at high energy densities, i.e. in the early universe, and dark radiation, that embodies the gravitational effects of the bulk onto the brane, and which is shown to be generated during the high energy era by the production of bulk gravitons.
