dc.descriptionWe explore the possibility that a now-extinct microquasar may have irradiated the proto-solar neighborhood, causing the 'anomalously' high local 11B/10B isotopic ratio. Given the population and typical lifetimes of radio-emitting X-ray binaries, we find the probability of such an event having occurred is not unreasonable. We comment on some tests of the scenario that could be carried out by observing the elemental abundances in the vicinity of microquasars, in particular SS433.
