| dc.description | The construction of a general effective lagrangian consistent with the symmetries of QCD and intended for applications to finite-density systems is discussed. The low-energy structure of the composite nucleon is described within the theory from vector-meson dominance. Results are given for finite nuclei and nuclear matter at one-loop order. All of the coupling constants, appropriately defined according to naive dimensonal analysis, are found to be natural. | |
