| dc.description | In this paper we explore the large N limit of the glueball mass spectrum for 2+1 dimensional pure gauge theory. We employ Hamiltonian lattice gauge theory (LGT) and analytic variational techniques to calculate glueball masses for finite values of N < 26. The results are then accurately extrapolated to infinite N. An empirical observation is discussed which links the infinite N glueball spectrum to a simple oscillator model. | |
