| dc.description | Through dimensional analysis, eliminating the physical time, we identify the speed of light as a dilaton field. This leads to a restmass zero, spin zero gauge field which we call the speedon field. The complete Lagrangian for gravitational, electromagnetic and speedon field interactions with a charged scalar field, representing matter, is given. We then find solutions for the gravitational-electromagnetic-speedon field equations. This then gives an expression for the speed of light. | |
