| dc.description | We study the chiral phase transition with staggered fermions on the lattice at finite temperature in the strong coupling limit. The thermodynamic potential is derived in the large $d$ approximation where $d+1$ is the dimension of space time. Our calculation is simpler than the conventional method and leads to a simple physical interpretation for the approximation scheme. | |
