dc.descriptionWe determine the structure of the center and the trace space of the centrally extended preprojective algebra of an ADE quiver, introduced by the first and the third authors in math/0503393. It turns out that this structure has a mysterious relationship to the structure of the maximal nilpotent subalgebra of the corresponding simple Lie algebra.
