dc.descriptionA brief overview of flavour-symmetry strategies to extract the angle gamma of the unitarity triangle is given, focusing on B --> pi K modes and the B_d --> pi^+ pi^-, B_s --> K^+ K^- system. We discuss also a variant of the latter approach for the e^+ e^- B-factories, where B_s --> K^+ K^- is replaced by B_d --> pi^{+/-} K^{+/-}.
