The CP violation asymmetry parameters in $Ξ\toπΛ$ nonleptonic decays are presently being measured by the HyperCP experiment. In the study of these CP violation parameters, the strong $S$ and $P$ phase shifts for the $πΛ$ final-state interactions are needed. In this work, these phases are calculated using an effective chiral Lagrangian model, that considers $Σ$, $Σ^*$(1385), and the $σ$-term, in the intermediate states. The $σ$-term is calculated in terms of the scalar form factor of the baryon.
