dc.descriptionGeneralized Maier-Saupe theory (GMST) within Tsallis thermostatistics (TT) has been used to investigate the second rank order parameter in a nematic liquid crystal, N-p-methoxybenzylidene p-n-butylaniline (MBBA). Also, the free energy has been investigated at the nematic-isotropic phase transition temperature and the effect of the nonextensivity has been demonstrated.
