We investigate the 1D interacting two-component Fermi gas with arbitrary polarization. Exact results for the ground state energy, quasimomentum distribution functions, spin velocity and charge velocity reveal subtle polarization dependent quantum effects.
dc.description7 pages, 3 figures, final published version without the discussion of harmonic trapping (to be taken up elsewhere). The effect of a magnetic-like field term on pairing and phase transtions has been discussed via the TBA approach in cond-mat/0702191
