Outline: 1. Introduction, 2. Confinement, chiral dynamics and light scalar mesons, 3. Chiral shielding of the σ(600), chiral constraints (the CGL band), the σ(600) and the f0(980) in ππ->ππ, ππ->KKbar, ϕ->γ\pi0\pi0, 4. The ϕmeson radiative decays on light scalar resonances, 5. Light scalars in γγcollisions. Evidence for four-quark components of light scalars is given. The priority of Quantum Field Theory in revealing the light scalar mystery is emphasized.
Plenary talk given by N.N. Achasov at PHIPSI08, Frascati, April 9, 2008. In spite of allegations in the papers arXiv:0806.0328 (M.R. Pennington) and arXiv:0803.3389 (M.R. Pennington et al.), the model of PRD 77 (2008) 074020 (N.N. Achasov, G.N. Shestakov) reproduces γγ->\pi0\pi0 above 800 MeV (see Sec. V, Fig. 5, in PRD and Sec. 20, Fig. 9, in this talk)
