| dc.description | Although the concept of a quantum phase transition has been known since the nineteen seventies, their importance as a source of radical transformation in metallic properties has only recently been appreciated. A quantum critical point forms an essential singularity in the phase diagram of correlated matter. We discus new insights into the nature of this phenomenon recently gained from experiments in heavy electron materials. | |
