| dc.description | Cross section fluctuations in nuclear scattering are briefly reviewed in order to show the main important features. Then chaotic scattering is introduced by means of a very simple model. It is shown that chaoticity produces the same kind of irregular fluctuations observed in light heavy--ion collisions. The transition from order to chaos allows a new general framework for a deeper understanding of reaction mechanisms. | |
