Advantages of introducing the electron structure function in electron induced processes are demonstrated. At present energies the same experiment gives more precise description of the electron than photon structure. The momentum scales entering the process are better controlled. At very high momenta probabilistic (partonic) interpretation can be preserved despite strong γ-Z interference. The ``virtual photon'' structure can also be reformulated in terms of more physical (real) electron variables.
