dc.descriptionWe review the assumptions and domain of applicability of Landau's Hydrodynamical Model. By considering two models of particle production, pair production from strong electric fields and particle production in the linear sigma model, we demonstrate that many of Landau's ideas are verified in explicit field theory calculations.
