It is shown that several common renormalization schemes lead to a gauge-dependent definition of tan(beta), whereas two classes of gauge-independent schemes show even worse disadvantages. We conclude that the DRbar-scheme is the best compromise.Talk presented by D.S. at the SUSY02 conference (10th International Conference on Supersymmetry and Unification of Fundamental Interactions), June 17--23 2002, DESY, Hamburg, Germany, 6 pagesHigh Energy Physics - PhenomenologyGauge dependence and renormalization of tan(beta)text
