However the asymptotic $σ_T (s)$ behavior obtained from the {\it ad hoc} parametrization fit to the $p \bar p$ total cross sections as quoted in the Review of Particle Properties is consistent with the analysis of the class of the analytic amplitude models that contain the ${\it ln} ^2 s$ type Pomeron term.5 pages, latex, figure available from author K.
