We demonstrate how both SLIRP and S-Lang were easily adapted to exploit the inherent parallelism of high-level mathematical languages with OpenMP, allowing general users to employ tightly-coupled multiprocessors in scriptable research calculations while requiring no special knowledge of parallel programming.
