Control is enabled with a strong laser field detuned with respect to the electron light-hole optical transitions. For a realistic experimental situation, i.e. with a weak magnetic field applied along the growth direction, high fidelity arbitrary rotations of the electron spin are possible using a single laser spatial mode. This makes viabile quantum gates with electron spins in systems with restricted optical resources.7 pages, 6 figuresOther Condensed MatterSingle qubit gates with a charged quantum dot using minimal resourcestext
