There are similarities and differences to the Schwarzschild-anti deSitter and 2+1 BTZ black hole solutions. It is found that there exist regimes of black string/thermal radiation equilibrium as well as stable remnant regimes. The relevance to black hole evaporation is discussed.10 pages with AMS packages. 1 figureGeneral Relativity and Quantum CosmologyThermodynamics and Evaporation of Closed Black Cosmic Stringstext
