The desired pulse is shaped by two apodized chirped fiber Bragg gratings which dispersions are adjusted to be cancelled. This technique exploits the well-known property of linearly-chirped gratings, in which the apodization (amplitude) grating profile maps its spectral response. This technique presents inherent advantages of chirped fiber Bragg gratings and direct design in frequency domain.6 pages, 3 figures, submitted to Optics ExpressOpticsOptical spectral pulse shaping by combining two oppositely chirped fiber Bragg gratingtext
