Using this observation, we pinpoint a flaw in the proof of Theorem 1 in the paper `The Capacity of Low-Density Parity-Check Codes Under Message-Passing Decoding' by Thomas J. Richardson and Rüdiger L.Urbanke\cite{RUCapacity}.
