Apart from the spectral parameter $θ$, they depend on $2n^2$ free parameters $m_{ij}^{(\pm)}$, $i,j=1,...,n$. For real parameters the matrices $R(θ)$ are nonunitary. For purely imaginary parameters they became unitary.
